Rules
What Are The Rules?
The rules outlined here are provided for your information, are mandatory for compliance, and apply to everyone without exception. If you disagree with these rules, it’s better not to attend this Event.
The Festival is organized for the enjoyment and entertainment of participants, fans, and casual spectators. If this type of activity does not interest you, then this event is not for you. You don’t have to be a creative person yourself; it’s enough that you are interested in others’ amateur creativity.
This is not a traditional “KSP” gathering. Singing with a guitar is warmly welcomed but is not the primary focus.
Since many activities are planned that require participants to have energy, the time between 3:00 AM and 9:00 AM is designated as “quiet hours.” Singing is allowed! But we strongly urge those of you who wish to “Get Rowdy” in the morning to refrain from such behavior. In case of violations, we will have to take measures and penalize the team or group that invited the violator. We sincerely hope it won’t come to that.
During the event and on its premises, all state laws apply. As such, we remind you that the use of any kind of drugs and the consumption of alcoholic beverages by minors are prohibited by law.
These rules are valid for the current event. The organizers reserve the right to clarify and amend these rules during the event’s preparation or subsequent gatherings. If there are situations not covered by these rules, please inform us, and we will try to consider your perspective. One month before the upcoming gathering, the rules become final for that event and remain unchanged until preparations for the next event begin.
So What Is Allowed?
- Participate or be a spectator in various events, programs, and competitions.
- Relax and do nothing?
- Enjoy yourself and savor life!
- Drink alcoholic beverages at any time of day!
- Sing songs around the campfire.
So What Is NOT Allowed?
- Pitching tents inside the road ring without special permission from the organizers.
- Lighting fires in unauthorized locations. The designated spots will be indicated to the team leads or their quartermasters upon arrival.
- Leaving cars directly at their site. All vehicles must be parked in the designated parking area, located just 100 meters closer to the camp entrance. Exceptions may be made for cars with handicap plates, families with infant children, and used for sleeping (by adults and/or children), but there should be no more than two such cars per group.
- Using boomboxes and amplifiers at the campsites or from midnight to 10 AM.
Sound, Equipment, Timelines and… Dogs?
Sound
- Live music during performances, played on various musical instruments, is highly encouraged.
- Sound effects recorded on a computer or CD are allowed.
- Backing tracks (instrumental music without vocals) are permitted, but performers (either a team or an individual) must notify the organizers in advance to ensure that the virtuosic playing of a backstage musician isn’t mistakenly taken for a recording.
- Recorded vocals, even with musical accompaniment, are allowed but should not be the basis for lip-syncing performances where people on stage pretend to sing. Let’s not resort to such use of playback.
Equipment
For all events, equipment provided by the organizers will be used. If something is lacking, we’ll inform you and ask for assistance, but for now, we plan to handle the Festival’s technical setup ourselves. This includes:
- Lighting equipment
- Speakers
- Monitors
- Microphones
- Stands
- Cables and connectors
- Amplifier
- Mixing console
Participant teams may use their own keyboards or plug-in guitars for musical accompaniment during performances. Keyboards can also be used for singing by the campfire or for rehearsals on-site.
Specific rules for using musical instruments and equipment in various contests will be outlined for each contest.
To speed up the preparation of sound equipment for performances, each team must provide sound operators with a microphone map—a list, quantity, and placement scheme for microphones required by the team for each contest. This information must be submitted to the organizers no later than one week before the assembly; otherwise, the team risks performing without sound.
Timelines
The Festival promises to be eventful, and we want to accomplish as much as possible, so it’s essential to start everything on time. Please begin preparing for Events in advance to avoid significant delays before your performance and the overall program.
Follow the time limits specified in the contest descriptions. It is very important that your performance stays within the allotted time.
Dogs at the Festival
- Dogs are strongly discouraged at this Festival. However, we understand that there are situations where leaving a dog at home is not an option, and you really want to attend. In such cases, we are willing to accommodate and consider the possibility of bringing a dog to the Event.
- If you bring a dog, you take full responsibility for its behavior in a public space, which may be noisy and crowded with rambunctious children.
- All dogs on the event premises must be on a leash at all times and supervised by an adult owner.
- The leash cannot be handed over to children, meaning individuals under 16 years old.
- Dogs are not allowed in enclosed spaces such as pavilions or crowded areas, particularly under the canopy during team performances.
If you agree to follow the above rules, please inform us in advance at admin@constellationfest.org, and we will contact you for more detailed instructions.
